Praise for Coffin/Perlson/Krauss:
“This magical trio takes us on a masterful sonic odyssey…Intimate wizardry…they create pure jazz magic on this gem of an album! Definitely one of the best trio albums I’ve heard in 2023…A superb add to your collection!”
Dick Metcalf, editor, Contemporary Fusion Reviews
“Bass great Viktor Krauss has graced many albums with his otherworldly tone, and now we bassists have another one to cherish.”
Kevin Johnson, No Treble
“Coffin continues with the soprano on the Wayne Shorter inspired “A Handful of Beans,” which features his outstanding solo as well as one from Krauss as each explores the kind of lyrical terrain associated with the late musical legend…this trio can bedazzle us by turns with moody pieces and uplifting, danceable ones. Let’s hope this is not just a standalone session for this trio. With their chemistry as palpable as it is, more is in order.”
Jim Hynes, Making A Scene

This incredible trio consists of saxophonist extraordinaire Jeff Coffin, the virtuosic Jordan Perlson on drums, and the legendary Viktor Krauss on upright bass.
Coffin/Perlson/Krauss came together in 2020 when Jeff, Jordan, and Viktor would assemble every couple weeks and make music together in Coffin’s home studio. They have recorded (audio and video) a self-titled, mind blowing trio project. The musicianship of these three artists is not to be denied and they are each deeply woven into the rich musical history of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The beauty of this group and of this recording, to me, is the transparency of how we play together and how well everyone listens. No one is trying to prove anything and at the core of everyone’s playing is the intention to serve the music and to serve each other. It’s a beautiful experience to play with such incredible artists and friends. - Jeff
This trio always feels full and complete because of the way everyone respects space, and listens. Regardless of the genre, it always sounds like this group. It's an honor to work with Jeff and Viktor. It's truly a dream band for me. - Jordan
Any opportunity to play alongside these tremendous musicians is an absolute pleasure and honor. There is a special musical chemistry that permeates with Jordan and Jeff that generates a sum greater than its parts. - Viktor
